The Commission offers a wide range of recreational, social, health and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages.ABOUT THE POSITIONNVRC is looking for a talented IT service leader to ensure the secure and efficient operation of digital services, including systems and services supporting NVRC?s diverse range of programs, membership management, operations, payment systems, and web presence. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Recreation and Culture, you will also oversee IT support staff and ensure that end users are receiving technology assistance and customer service. You will receive oversight and guidance from technology leaders at the District of North Vancouver who provide core technology services to NVRC. You have worked in an IT leadership position, ideally in the municipal sector.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOversee end-to-end delivery of technology services supporting recreation and culture programs. Manage the implementation, configuration, and sustainment of enterprise and line-of- business software used for recreation and culture services. Act as primary liaison between IT and recreation and culture program areas, including gathering and analyzing requirements from staff to align IT services with business needs. Lead technology projects related to recreation and culture services. Manage the resolution of incidents and problems related to IT services. With oversight from technology leadership at the District of North Vancouver, deliver corporate IT services and infrastructure; collaborate on the development of hardware refresh cycles for inclusion in annual IT capital and operating budgets; manage vendor relationships and performance; and evaluate and recommend new technologies and vendors to enhance recreation and culture services. Lead the NVRC in identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation within IT services. Work collaboratively with the District of North Vancouver to identify end user device, mobile device, network, broadband, and telecommunications connectivity requirements and identify opportunities for improvement. Manage, lead and oversee a team of IT staff responsible for monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving problems related to software, endpoints, infrastructure, and other IT systems and equipment. Contribute to the development of multi-jurisdictional plans for cybersecurity, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures and tests on a regular basis. Liaise with managers, supervisors and staff, on a variety of matters to understand needs, identify potential solutions, and provide information/education/awareness and training with respect to technology. Prepare and present reports, facilitate meetings and conduct presentations to management, steering committees and partners.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSYou have a degree or equivalent in computer science, business, recreation or a related discipline with a minimum of five years of related experience. You also have knowledge of local government functions and systems, preferably in recreation and culture, and supervisory experience in a unionized work environment. You are an excellent communicator, service-oriented, and a collaborator with a demonstrated capacity to welcome and lead continuous improvement. This is an exempt full-time position working 37.5 hours per week with the requirement to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings and events.
