Job details
Duties: - Assist pharmacists in providing patient service by preparing medications, labeling containers, and maintaining inventory. - Handle medication orders and prescriptions accurately and efficiently. - Perform calculations to determine appropriate medication dosages. - Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of medications and supplies. - Follow established procedures and protocols for medication compounding, packaging, and labeling. - Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of aseptic technique to ensure safe handling of medications. - Prepare sterile products for infusion or other routes of administration. - Provide patient care by answering questions, addressing concerns, and offering medication counseling as directed by the pharmacist. - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication administration and patient safety. - Assist in critical care settings by preparing specialized medications and monitoring patient responses. Experience: - Previous experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is preferred. - Familiarity with medical terminology and aseptic technique is highly desirable. - Knowledge of medication administration procedures is beneficial. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing duties. - Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other team members effectively.
