Job Title: *Cleaner* Department/Area: Facilities Date last Updated: January 2024 *Job Objectives:* As an employer, Tornado seeks to keep its workplace and employees Safe and Healthy. A part of that, is meticulous cleaning and sanitation of our offices and common areas. The cleaner provides experience in commercial cleaning and gives their detailed attention to necessary daily and weekly cleaning duties. Our employees respect the processes and procedures that we have put in place, and we in turn value the contributions and improvements they can offer within that framework. *Relationships:* Reports to: Janitor, Facilities Manager Supervises: None Internal Contacts: All personnel as required Key Responsibility Areas: *Cleaning:* · Works with care and attention to ensure that cleaning tasks are completed in accordance with schedules and checklists provided. · Provides daily cleaning of washrooms, lunchrooms, and meeting spaces. · Sanitizes frequently touched surfaces twice daily. · Mops floors as required. · Vacuums and dusts in offices and meeting rooms weekly. · Performs other cleaning and sanitizing tasks as necessary. · Assists production departments with specific cleaning requirements. · Plans and recommends processes and schedules to ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitization are maintained. · Maintains a clean and organized work area. Qualifications: · *Education * o Grade 12 or equivalent. o WHMIS training required, will be provided. · *Experience * o Related commercial or institutional cleaning experience is preferred. *Competencies (skills, abilities, knowledge):* · Derives satisfaction from a job well done. · Able to follow prescribed processes and to suggest improvements when appropriate. · Dedication to working safely, while ensuring and improving the safety of the workplace and of all workers. · Attention to detail. · Able to organize and plan daily and weekly tasks, amid competing priorities. · Able to work independently, and to make decisions as needed. · Able to communicate effectively in the English language. Working Conditions: · Outside the office and common areas, the industrial manufacturing shop environment may involve loud noise and dusty conditions. · Consistent and appropriate use of necessary PPE is a requirement of this position.
