In our 142 bed facility, care is provided in an enriched housing, an assisted living, and a nursing home setting. Work with us as we plan for our new state of the art facility scheduled to open in 2026.We are scent-reduced environment and we actively promote a safe and respectful workplace.Position SummaryThe rehabilitation assistant works under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist. The rehabilitation assistant (RA) is responsible for implementing interventions formulated from the assessments conducted by PT/OT. In addition, the RA supports the staff of Grand View Manor with educational opportunities that will support staff safety and enhance the quality of life of the residents.Responsible for:Facilitate referrals for OT/PT servicesProvide full OT/PT supportImplement intervention plans and programs under the supervision of OT/PTAttendance and participation in team meetings and eventsActive involvement in the Safe Handling & Mobility committeeMonitor residents' status and provide accurate reports to OT/PTConduct and maintain accurate inventory documentation and statistical data related to departmental programs/equipment/resourcesParticipate in continuous quality improvement activities and continuing education as neededEnsuring inventory, stock and office supplies are available for the Therapeutic Support DepartmentProvide training and support for OT/PT approved programs related to mobility, exercise and safety of residents and staffConduct routine inspections for mobility equipment addressing any malfunctions that are noted.Skills RequiredHave the welfare of residents as the core motivator for service deliveryAre experienced in dealing with individuals with physical and/or mental health diagnosisAbility to support Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist with staff training and other related departmental needsStrong computer skills or is willing to learnAbility to consult with supervisors and/or manager regarding workplace issues and/or challenges involving residents and/or staff, as it relates to safety, professionalism and job rolesHave strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families and staffHas the ability to provide leadership support for residents and/or staff related to safety, mobilization and education Effective organizational and time management skills to maintain and support departmental caseloadHas the ability to work independentlyData collection and research experience would be an assetEducation and QualificationsGraduate of a recognized Rehabilitative Assistant (PTA/OTA) Program or have a Bachelor Degree in KinesiologyAble to demonstrate proof of continuing education in your field of study if you have not been practicing for a duration.Must have standard First Aid and CPRBenefits· Pension Plan and Benefits· Employee Assistance Program (Wellness)· Discounted or free food· On-site free parking· Company events· Larry's Pharmacy and Perkopolis discount programsSCHEDULE:· To be discussedPlease send your resume to careers@grandviewmanor.orgWe value diversity in the workplace and strongly encourage applications from all qualified candidates including African Canadians and other members of the visible minority community, indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, m
