*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Rehabilitation Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will support rehabilitation professionals in providing care to residents to maintain or restore mobility through strengthening exercises, walking programs, and activities of daily living. You will also organize and maintain equipment including minor repairs to wheelchairs, cushions and walking aids. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and demonstrate a passion for resident care.
*Responsibilities*
* Assist rehabilitation therapists in implementing treatment plans for residents.
* Help residents with exercises and mobility tasks to enhance their physical mobility.
* Monitor resident progress and report any changes to the rehabilitation team.
* Maintain accurate documentation of resident activities and progress.
* Provide quotes and estimates for necessary equipment.
* Prepare treatment areas by ensuring all necessary equipment is available and sanitized.
* Educate residents and their families on rehabilitation exercises and techniques.
* Provide emotional support to residents during their journey.
*Skills*
* Knowledge of geriatrics is preferred, with an understanding of the unique needs of older residents.
* Familiarity with medical terminology to effectively communicate within the healthcare team.
* Experience or knowledge in long-term care settings is advantageous.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and families.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
