<p>Looking for a new opportunity in the Northern Region? We are hiring for the Inuulitsivik Health Center!</p><p>The Foster Care Department, covering the Hudson Bay coast, is seeking four (4) candidates ready to commit to a Fly-in/Fly-out mandate, following this rotation: 6 weeks in Nunavik / 3 weeks off in the south, and then repeat for an indefinite period!</p><p>Departures are planned between November 25th and December 9th for the initial 6-week period.</p><p>Start: As soon as possible</p><p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>DEC in Youth Correctional Intervention Techniques</li><li>AEC in Special Education</li><li>DEC in Special Education</li><li>DEC in Social Work</li><li>Valid driver?s license</li></ul><p><strong>Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working with families and children (mandatory)</li><li>Experience with vulnerable populations (multi-issue psychosocial cases) (mandatory)</li><li>Experience in Indigenous communities (a strong asset)</li><li>Experience with Youth Protection (an asset)</li><li>Strong ability to manage stress related to the mandate and northern living conditions (weather, water, isolation, transportation limitations, etc.)</li></ul><p><strong>What You?ll Do:</strong></p><ul><li>Recruit foster families</li><li>Conduct initial assessments, evaluations, and re-evaluations of foster families</li><li>Determine the best matches based on children?s specific needs</li><li>Provide support and follow-up for foster families</li><li>Travel between communities for direct support to foster families</li><li>Manage the family room in Puvirnituq and support service delivery</li><li>Verify clothing allowances for children and assist with shopping</li><li>Help with administrative tasks related to foster family payments, reimbursements, and payroll checks</li><li>Collaborate with various partners and community resources</li><li>Crisis intervention</li><li>Provide psychosocial emergency on-call services</li><li>Write progress notes and reports</li><li>Collaborate and assist with other Youth Protection services as needed (YCJA, Adoptions, RTS, Assessment-Orientation)</li></ul><p><strong>Conditions and Benefits:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Competitive salary: $55/hour + $60 per day per diem</strong></li><li>Accommodation and travel expenses covered</li><li>Group insurance and retirement plan</li><li>Referral bonus and access to ongoing training</li><li>Respectful, human-focused work environment</li></ul>
