Hestia maintains the culture of a family company with the distinct capability to deliver on quality and value, regardless of the size, location or complexity. *JOB SUMMARY* Hestia is looking an individual for the position of Estimator to play a key role in the pre-construction phase by analyzing project specifications, gathering data and preparing comprehensive cost estimates. The successful candidate must have 5 to 10 years? experience in estimating commercial and multi-unit residential buildings. This high performing individual will report to the Vice President of Construction and have a proven track record in estimating, excellent analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams. *DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* * Analyze project specifications, drawings and other construction documents to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates * Collaborate with the project team and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives to prepare cost plans * Collaborate with project team and site supers on constructability review sessions * Solicit and evaluate supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing * Manage the entire tendering process and any related reporting/documentation * Prepare and present detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment and overhead costs * Conduct periodical on-site visits * Provide guidance and expertise to bid review meetings * Maintain education and knowledge of industry best practices, pricing and trends * Other activities as required *QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS* * Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma related to Business, Mathematics or Statistics * Proven experience of 5 - 10 years in construction estimating, with a strong knowledge of construction processes, materials and methods * Experience and knowledge in the construction of projects that are concrete structures * Gold Seal Certification in Estimating or working towards completion is an asset * Proficient with MS Office Applications * Experience in Procore and Bluebeam is an asset * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written * Professional with the ability to work independently or collaborate to meet deadlines with accuracy * Maintain a current driver's license Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year Benefits: * Company events * Dental care * Disability insurance * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Paid time off * RRSP match * Vision care Flexible language requirement: * French not required Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Monday to Friday Experience: * Construction: 5 years (required) * Construction estimating: 5 years (required) Work Location: In person- LocationCalgary, AB
