A career at EPS provides incredible diversity and growth potential. *Minimum Requirements* To become an EPS officer, the most important qualification is a sincere desire to help others. We look for individuals driven by compassion, community, and a dedication to service. In addition to these personal qualities, applicants must also meet the necessary legal minimum requirements: * 18 years of age or older at the time of application * No criminal conviction for which a pardon has not been granted * Canadian citizen or legal permanent resident at the time of application * In excellent health with no impending conditions * Must meet visual and hearing examination standards * Grade 12 high school diploma (Alberta standard) or equivalent; for International Applicants, an IQAS certificate or WES certificate is required * Good written and verbal skills in English * Two years of recent and verifiable employment, and/or two years of post-secondary education * Valid Alberta Class 5 driver?s license * Good driving record (maximum of five demerits) * Current certificate in standard first aid * Minimum 16-hour course with Provincial Occupational Health and Safety approval.
