<p> <p> <p> <p>POSTED: November 8, 2024 <p>CLOSING DATE: November 15, 2024 <p>COMPETITION: 2024-123 <p> <p> <p> <p>ENGLISH & SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER <p>Fulltime (1.0 FTE) term position<p>Sentinel Secondary School<p>Effective immediately until return of the absent teacher<p> <p>The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.<p> <p>Required Qualifications and Experience <p>A full-time English/Social Studies (1 FTE) position consisting of English Studies 9 & 11, English First Peoples 10 and Social Justice 12 is available at Sentinel Secondary School. This position replaces a teacher that is on leave. The successful candidate must have:<p><p> Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching both junior and senior Mathematics at the secondary level.<p><p><p> AP training and/or experience an asset.<p> Hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate<p> Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Core Competencies, Big Ideas, and Learning Standards for the appropriate curricular area<p> Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum.<p> An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners.<p> A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.<p> A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.<p><p> <p>Why West Vancouver Schools? <p>West Vancouver Schools, the premier place for learning, has a long-held reputation for excellence and innovation.
