<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Inspections and Preventative Maintenance: </strong></p><ul><li>Inspects county vehicles in accordance with the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) and repairs all deficiencies identified during inspection.</li><li>Completes scheduled inspections and services on equipment and vehicles to maintain proper performance.</li><li>Ensures all work meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations.</li><li>Maintains records of repair and ensure all records are accurate.</li><li>Completes inspection reports for scheduled maintenance on all units as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Vehicle and Equipment Repairs: </strong></p><ul><li>Repairs County vehicles and heavy construction and service equipment; troubleshoots mechanical problems, perform either in-house repairs or coordinates for contract-out servicing; inspects all work before releasing for use.</li><li>Diagnoses faults or malfunctions using testing equipment to determine required repairs.</li><li>Repairs, adjusts, or replaces defective parts, components, or systems.</li><li>Interprets technical manuals and online diagnostic tools.</li><li>Responds to and prioritizes work orders.</li><li>Repairs vehicles off site if required.</li><li>Completes work orders and updates records.</li></ul><p><strong>Shop Maintenance and Operations: </strong></p><ul><li>Maintains safe and organized shop including housekeeping and the maintenance of equipment & tools within the shop.</li><li>Coordinate the scheduling of repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspection schedules with all Departments.</li></ul><p><strong>Position Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Education</strong></p><ul><li>Heavy-duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification [required]</li><li>Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certification [preferred]</li><li>Will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.</li></ul><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><ul><li>3 - 5 years' experience working with heavy-duty highway and or off-road equipment [required]</li><li>Experience working with techniques, tools, equipment, and safety precautions in maintaining trucks and heavy equipment [required]</li><li>Experience working with fleet maintenance [asset]</li><li>Experience working with computers and scan tool systems Cat ET, DDDL, Insite, Parts Pro, Shop Key. [required}</li><li>Experience working with municipal governments [asset]</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Skills or Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Valid Class 5 required, Alberta Operators License; Class 1 and/or 3 or Q, considered an asset.</li><li>Fall Protection, Forklift, and Overhead Crane Certification would be considered an asset; however, training and certification can be provided.</li><li>You must provide your own shop tools.</li><li>The ability to obtain an Alberta Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program license.</li><li>Able to effectively meet physical demands in this position.</li><li>Moderate to heavy physical fitness level of activity, including being able to lift/carry more than 25 kg on occasion.</li><li>Fleet maintenance background would be an asset.</li><li>Demonstrates good prioritization and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to work on multiple projects.</li><li>Demonstrated safe working skills and a proven record of safe work practices.</li><li>Quality customer relations, communication, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Must be willing to work outside in all conditions, including in challenging environments.</li><li>Basic computer skills, including utilizing Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), Fleet Maintenance Management Work Order Systems, and diagnostic software such as Cummins Insite, Allison DOC, CAT, E.T./S.I.S.</li><li>Ability to adapt to changes in technology.</li></ul><p><strong>What do we offer?</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive pay</li><li>Group Health Benefits</li><li>Local Au
