<p><strong>Under the responsibility of the Unit Manager, the position holder provides technical expertise and plays a key role in improving processes and equipment (modernization). He is also responsible for investment projects and major maintenance projects concerning equipment, utilities and buildings. </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities of the position:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop a clear business need for capitalizable projects or major plant maintenance projects with the support of the department head. Projects can affect health / safety / environment, efficiency, modernization of facilities, introduction of new products, cost reduction ...</li><li>Prepare and request quotes;</li><li>Coordinate execution activities with the sectors concerned;</li><li>Develop and present periodic reports on project progress;</li><li>Be responsible for providing the analysis of options and the recommended solution for the project in compliance with the standards and norms of the Mapei Group;</li><li>Develop and implement a clear project implementation plan including the schedule and cost estimate and ensure compliance with these elements;</li><li>Determine the team structure necessary for the project, support the stakeholders and identify the services required by consultants and contractors, their selection and the supervision of their work;</li><li>Be sure to comply with municipal, provincial, federal regulations, company policies, applicable procedures and work instructions;</li><li>Interpret and / or write plans, specifications, standards and technical documentation;</li><li>Provide technical support to operations employees;</li><li>Plan and coordinate the performance review of completed projects to ensure the proper execution of the contract specifications;</li><li>Supervise contractors (design, engineering, labor, construction, etc.) by ensuring compliance with the specifications of the tender and with all HSE policies when it is on a site.</li></ul> <br> <ul><li>Bachelor - Mechanical engineering, or electric combined with 5 to 7 years of experience in the manufacturing sector with a unionized environment or a combination of equivalent education and experience</li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Suite Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)</li><li>Good knowledge of Autocad</li><li>Proficient in mechanical processes including reading of electrical, mechanical and building plans</li><li>Very good knowledge of project management</li><li>Very good communication skills</li><li>Very good technical problems resolution skills</li><li>Analytical capacity, synthesizing mind.
