Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Apply medicinal substances to control and prevent diseases. Incorporate biosecurity measures into daily operation. Supervise staff. Train staff. Design and construct pens, floating stations and collector strings or fences for sea farms. Scuba dive to inspect sea farm operations. Co-ordinate selection and maintenance of brood stock. Collect and record data. Determine food requirements and structure feeding regimes. Establish inventory and quality control methods. Establish marketing programs. Identify diseases or parasites. Maintain financial records. Manage and train aquaculture and fish hatchery support workers and supervise technicians and technologists. Manage fish hatchery, fish farm or other aquatic farm. Monitor environment and maintain optimum conditions. Operate and maintain harvesting and cultivating equipment. Oversee preparation of site for species cultivation. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Experience: Experience an asset.
