POSITION: Counsellor <p> ASSIGNMENT: Elementary Counsellor (K-7) <p> FTE: 1.0 <p> LOCATION: District Administration Office <p> EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2024 and continuing <p> Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following: <p> Training Specialization: Secondary Education with a Master's Degree in Counselling <p> Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience as an Elementary School Counsellor <p> A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff. <p> Additional Qualifications: Master's Degree in Counselling <p> Other: <p><p> Commitment to the School growth Plan. <p> Ability to meet the counselling needs of students with a wide range of abilities. <p> Commitment to the School Based Team. <p> Willingness to provide support and develop programs in collaboration with the Youth Care Workers. <p> Ability to advocate for student needs with community agencies. <p><p> The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
