We are proud of the diverse skill sets and backgrounds we bring to the table. *THE ROLE:* Ashario Pets is looking to employ a knowledgeable and experienced sales associate to assist customers in selecting suitable pet products specific to their pet?s needs. You will need to demonstrate a deep passion for pet care as the Ashario Pets team is dedicated to providing the highest quality service and support to pet owners and their furry friends. We are committed to carrying the highest quality products while providing the best possible experience for our customers. *RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:* * Providing information to customers in a professional manner. * Friendly customer acquisition and retention. * Supervise all activities that take place on the retail sales floor and business premises. * Act as a brand ambassador reflective of the company values and mission. * Create intentional experiences for customers by building customer rapport, authentic relationships and appropriately determining needs. * Ensure that all customers are being treated with the highest level of customer service. * Advise customers on suitable products based on their pet?s needs, preferences, and budgets. * Process customers' payments using the Point of Sale (POS) system. * Be responsible for sales and customer experience by maintaining a tidy, safe, and inviting store environment. * Promote a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with established policies and procedures. *SKILLS:* *Passion for animals: *The most important quality to look for in potential employees is a genuine passion for animals. This passion will translate into better customer service and a more positive experience for customers and pets alike. *Knowledge of pet care*: Employees should have a basic knowledge of pet care, including proper nutrition, housing, grooming, and accessories. This will allow them to offer helpful advice to customers and ensure that the pets in the store are well-cared for. *Communication skills: *Good communication skills are essential for any retail job, but they are particularly important in a pet store where employees may need to communicate complex information to customers. Look for candidates who can speak clearly and confidently, and who can tailor their communication style to meet the needs of different customers. *Customer service experience: *Prior customer service experience is a plus, as it demonstrates that the candidate has the skills to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner. *Physical ability: *Working in a pet store can be physically demanding, so it's important to ensure that candidates are physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and carrying heavy bags of pet food, handling large animals, and standing for long periods of time. *Attention to detail: *Attention to detail is crucial in a pet store, where small mistakes can have big consequences. Being meticulous and detail-oriented is key. *Flexibility: *Being flexible and able to adapt to changing situations is essential. Working in a pet store can be unpredictable, so it's important to have employees who can roll with the punches and handle unexpected challenges.
