You?ll be a part of an entire organization that will never be satisfied with the status quo and will always be looking for ways to improve and be more efficient while taking care of the customer.????The RoleThe Formulation Specialist is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant application and administration of formulations and corresponding pricing requirements.Primary Roles and ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with any formulation-related regulations that affect livestock feedsAdministration of formulation, manufacturing and accounting system components to support item accuracy and integrityImplement new and update existing formulas and pricing as provided by Nutrition ConsultantsSupport a cross-functional team approach by encouraging interdepartmental communicationCreate and maintain nutritionally balanced and cost-effective formulas according to animal species and life stageTimely and accurate completion of urgent formulation requestsMain point of contact for Consultants, Sales Coordinators, and Regional Operations Managers regarding all formula-related mattersSupport strong working relationships with toll manufacturersCreate and administer compliant feed labels, auditing as requiredMaintenance of accurate ingredient specifications within formulation softwareSafety Data Sheets administration for manufactured productsWork with external laboratory analysis vendors to execute forage submissions tracking, monitor analysis results, and verify invoicesAssist in tracking and recording feed and ingredient laboratory analysis to support quality manufacturing and product deliveryCustomer benchmarking and data managementMaintain formulation measurables and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvementsProvide support to Pricing Specialist as requiredOther duties as required and assigned?Skills & Experience RequiredSelf-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamOutstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and customersAbility to effectively navigate multiple software programsDetail-oriented and resourceful with strong analytical capabilities and decision-making skillsAbility to prioritize individual responsibilities and effectively manage timeAbility to work in a fast-paced team and inter-departmental environmentAbility to challenge the status quo and drive change for required improvementsStrong verbal and written communication skillsGeneral knowledge of livestock production systems and nutritional/management practicesDisplay honesty, integrity and a strong sense of ethics in all decisions and actionsEnthusiasm for continuous learning relevant to the role with a keen desire to take on new challenges?Qualifications includePost Secondary Education in Agriculture or equivalent experience is considered an assetAdvanced Microsoft computing and applications skillsExperience using formulation, ration balancing, accounting and manufacturing software is considered an assetFamiliarity with CFIA, FeedAssure/HACCP and Health Canada regulatory and audit requirements would be considered an assetPrevious agriculture or livestock industry experience is considered an asset?Our current success!Since 2005, More Than Just Feed and its family of Brands have proudly served Western Canada?s feed industry with high-quality products and services.
