People like you!This is manual and clerical work of some variety related to weigh scale operational duties at the City?s transfer site. An incumbent operates the scale to determine net weight of loads for a variety of commercial and City trucks accessing the transfer site to pick up materials or dispose of refuse; maintains scale in a clean, secure and safe condition; generates scale tickets for loaded vehicles in accordance with established procedures; receives and reviews records and checks for completeness and accuracy; enters data into the system; updates and maintains daily records and files; compiles simple statistical data as necessary; accesses paper and digital files to complete quarterly reports; orders safety and office supplies; coordinates daily activities with onsite staff and contractors, inclusive of monitoring inventory levels; coordinates incoming deliveries and requests outgoing refuse and recycling collection; maintains a variety of routine logs and records related to the work and prepares incident reports and informational materials as required; provides information and assistance to internal customers and external contacts on a variety of matters related to site services and procedures. Performs related work as required.Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 with some related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Sound knowledge of site rules, regulations and procedures as related to the work performed; of the hazards and proper safety precautions related to the work performed; of standard office methods and procedures, record keeping, arithmetic and software applications related to the work performed. Ability to operate computer systems and related equipment; maintain manual and digital records and associated supporting documentation; prepare and maintain reports and records manually or using software applications; communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts, to apply sound judgement in providing assistance and explaining applicable rules, regulations and procedures.
