Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Office. Construction company. Various locations. Tasks: Conduct economic analyses. Conduct environmental impact studies. Conduct feasibility studies. Conduct municipal and regional traffic studies. Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work. Conduct technical analyses of survey and field data for development of topographic, soil, hydrological or other information and prepare reports. Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements. Develop construction specifications and procedures. Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations. Establish and monitor construction work schedules. Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials. Interpret, review and approve survey and civil design work. Prepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projects. Provide customer service. Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates. Establish and maintain contact with suppliers. Determine contract terms and conditions. Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications. Prepare engineering technical reports or other documents . Participate in contract negotiations. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Computer and technology knowledge: Primavera. AutoCAD. MS Office. Project management software. MS Project. Autodesk REVIT. Type of related experience: Civil engineering.
