Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Tasks: Professionalism in customer service. Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Pay and receive payments for goods. Perform brake adjustments. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. Air Brakes Endorsement. Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Dangerous goods occurrence reports. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Flatbed. Tractor-trailer. Communication systems experience: Citizens band (CB) radio. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Trip recorder (on-board computer). Transportation/travel experience: International. Local. National. Provincial/territorial. Regional. Security and safety: Valid passport. Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Medical exam. Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle.
