This is a full-time permanent position located in Windsor, NS. This position has rotating shifts with 12-hour, long week/short week shifts.The candidate will be responsible for:Performing analyses using instrumental techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, PCR, Electrophoretic assays, ELISA (Plate assays).Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.Performing required calculations, by hand or with use of spreadsheets or validated computer systems.Performing routine maintenance and/or calibration of analytical instruments and documenting these activities.Completing paperwork for the release of materials, including status labels and certificates of analysis.Ensuring appropriate tracking and logging of samples.Identifying test results which are out of specification and alerting a manager or supervisor when this occurs.Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor's request.The successful candidate for this position should have: Diploma from a recognized Chemical Technology program.Bachelor of Science degree preferredTechnical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation such as GC, HPLC, UV-VIS, PCR, Plate reader preferred.Knowledge of cGMP guidelines an asset.
