St. Clements School is looking for a Middle School LINCWell Counsellor (Counsellor) to join our School on a full-time, contract basis to cover a parental leave commencing in January 2025 to January 2026 with potential to extend through the 2025-2026 school year. LINCWell is a unique school-wide approach that focuses on student support, health, wellbeing, and academic enrichment for Grades 1 - 12. <p>The Counsellor provides academic support, enrichment, and social-emotional guidance to students in Grade 7 and 8, works with the Grade 6 class to support transition to the Middle School, and teaches the LINC6, LINC7, and LINC8 classes. <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES <p> As a member of the LINCWell team, develop and deliver a wide-range of innovative workshops and learning experiences focusing on academic skill building, integrative thinking, as well as health and wellbeing; <p> Work collaboratively with Teachers, Heads of School, and the LINCWell team to support students through their middle school years at SCS; <p> Develop strong, trusting relationships with students and their families; <p> Work with students, advisors, and faculty to ensure student support plans are implemented and to ensure the necessary academic support and accommodations are provided; <p> Work in collaboration with our internal school departments for special events; <p> Full participation and engagement in the life of the School; and <p> Other duties as assigned.<p>QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES OF OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE <p> University degree and Certificate of Qualification and Registration with OCT required; <p> Guidance and/or Special Education qualifications; <p> Minimum of 3 years classroom teaching experience; <p> Demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively with the middle school learner and families; <p> Understanding of current research on adolescent mental health and strategies for promoting well-being; <p> Experience developing individual learning plans; <p> Demonstrated ability to support classroom teachers in finding effective strategies to differentiate classroom instruction; <p> Commitment to co-curricular activities, coaching, and full participation in school life; <p> Knowledge of girls developmental, educational, and social-emotional needs; <p> Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to handle confidential material and situations with discretion and sensitivity; and <p> A clear criminal record check is required as a condition of employment.<p>DIVERSITY & EQUAL OPPORTUNITY<p>St. Clements School is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
