*Job Summary* We are seeking a skilled and motivated *Mechanical Engineering Technologist *to join our growing team.The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical design, with experience using modern CAD tools and an aptitude for hands on work building prototypes, test equipment, and production tools. *Sirius Instrumentation and Controls Inc.* is an innovative and growing Canadian company that designs and manufactures its own product line of chemical injection equipment and digital controllers. We have a global presence with over 20 years of operation, primarily in the oil and gas sector. Our Edmonton office is the company headquarters and is the home of the engineering team, as well as the manufacturing hub for the company?s core products. *Duties* Product Development * Assist the mechanical team in improving existing and adding new products to our company. * Develop and maintain CAD drawings (3d models, 2d drawings, schematics, renderings) * Maintain revision control on all drawing sets. * Prototype, test and develop new products. * Bring forth innovative ideas and alternative solutions to problems Production Support * Collaborate with Mech Engineer and the production manager to ensure vendors can meet targeted volume and quality objectives. * Collaboration with the operations team in the development of new work instructions for new product manufacturing. * Design / development and continuous improvement of production processes. * Support operations team and troubleshooting on design, quality, or production related issues as they arise. Product Documentation * Supporting the marketing team by providing design information, renderings, or graphics to support generation of sales documentation or user manuals. * Creation of P&ID?s, General Arrangements, schematics, spec sheets, etc. to support the sales team and customized projects. *Personal Qualities* * Proud of the work that you do * Strong verbal communication skills. * Time management and prioritization skills. * Commitment to quality and continuous improvement. * Proven problem-solving abilities. *Qualifications* * Minimum 2 years experience in related roles * Mechanical Engineering Technolgist (C.E.T) or equivalent * CAD experience. (Solidworks, Solidworks PDM, and 2D schematics) * Strong computer skills, mechanical aptitude. * Reading and creating engineering drawings. * Personable with good communication skills to support clients.
