Today, this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Mtis and Inuit peoples and we acknowledge the contributions and accomplishments of all Indigenous people across Turtle Island, current and through history.<p>All positions in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board support the schools priority of student achievement and the Boards mission to educate our students to excel in learning, to succeed in life and to enrich our communities.<p>Employees demonstrate empathy and respect in all interactions, are committed to service excellence, and embrace change through innovation.<p>As part of our strategy to provide on-going support for our schools, the Board is now accepting resumes from qualified applicants for the full-time positions Maintenance Repair Technician.<p>The purpose of the Maintenance Repair Technician position is to provide maintenance and repairs on facility services equipment and maintain updated detailed records showing history of repairs for each piece of equipment.Main Responsibilities: Develop and implement a training program for training of new casuals and retraining of current staff on proper use and maintenance of facility services equipment.<p> Maintaining up to date training records.<p> Regularly reviews and inspects equipment to ensure optimal safety.<p> Inspects, operates, and tests custodial equipment, such as vacuum motors, auto-scrubbers, snow blowers, lawn mowers and other small equipment to diagnose malfunctions.<p> Inspects custodial equipment to locate damages, defects or wear and tests equipment to ensure proper functioning.<p> Disassemble equipment to diagnose problems and determine how to correct them.<p> Dismantle custodial equipment by checking access and remove defective parts using hand tools or power tools.<p> Performs routine maintenance, such as inspecting motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters or doing other preventative maintenance actions.<p> Develops electronic custodial equipment tracking system and maintains up to date records on each piece of equipment outlining inspection dates, equipment repair dates and detailed description on each repair.<p> Researches, and correctly applies, technical information that is required when performing maintenance repairs.<p> Completes seasonal servicing and annual inspections of equipment.<p> Safely transports chemicals, in a Board vehicle to various locations.<p> Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.<p> Identifies and makes recommendations for Supervisor's assessment of items for normal repair and replacement.<p> Research new equipment and make recommendations to management on equipment purchases.<p> Assist/complete work with scissors lift (light changes, vent/light fixture cleaning etc.)<p> Supporting trade employee when extra help is needed for which no specific trade certification is required. <p> Schedule and
