Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots. Odours. Outdoors. Grain, oil and forage crop. All weather conditions. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Cut agricultural crops. Develop specific plans to prioritize. Diagnose livestock health issues. Direct agricultural crops deleafing activities. Direct farm feed inventory activities . Direct farm grooming activities . Handling animals. Implement soil fertility programs. Level earth to fine grade specifications. Marking livestock as proof of ownership. Monitor the calving process. Monitoring animal health. Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Oversee the activities of clearing the fields. Seed cutting. Soil fertility programs. Treat livestock health issues. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Maintain financial and production records. Negotiate with clients for provision of services. Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting. Carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Formulate feeding program. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Select livestock for sale. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations. Train horses. Maintain work records and logs. Hire and train staff. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties. Supervision: 3-4 people. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Physically demanding.
