Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Installation. Shop fabrication. Service. Repair. On-site fabrication. Retrofit. Willing to relocate. Tasks: Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification. Sheet Metal Worker Red Seal Certificate. Specialization or experience: Custom sheet metal items. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Security and safety: Bondable. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
