Do you thrive in complex and fast-paced environments and enjoy building relationships with staff, service providers, community organizations, and regulatory agencies?RoleReporting to the CEO, this exempt role provides strategic direction and oversight of all facilities, safety and security related activities. Leads the system-wide planning and management of GVPL?s facilities, safety and security operations, and is responsible for compliance with legislated occupational health and safety requirements.Education and ExperienceOur ideal candidate will have:Post-secondary education in a related field/graduate and/or related certifications such as Facilities Management Professional (FMP), or Certified Facilities Manager (CFM), Engineering Technologist. Project Management Certification. Seven (7) years of progressive experience in facilities management and/or construction in a local government and/or a consulting setting, in a multi-site property portfolio. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a diverse team of professionals, technicians, project coordinators and building services personnel. A working knowledge of the BC Building Code, WorkSafeBC regulations and applicable government legislation related to facilities construction, operations maintenance, occupational health and safety. Experience supporting health and safety, including incident investigations, representation on committees, and consultation with WorkSafeBC as needed. Demonstrated record of achieving strategic outcomes in a timely manner. Experience working in a unionized public sector environment. Occupational Health and Safety certification and/or a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, or eligibility, would be an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. DetailsWork schedule: Line 11: Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Schedule is subject to change based on operational requirements. Evening and weekend work may be required.
