Braam's is a successful family owned and operated company with their manufacturing plant in St. Thomas and showrooms in London, Oakville and Birmingham, Mich. With over 30 years of experience and thousands of satisfied customers Braam's continues to grow and requires truck drivers.
*Driver*
* Operate and drive vans and light trucks to deliver cabinetry
* Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle
* Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
* Ensure correct loading of vehicle and that the load is properly fastened down and secure
* Operate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road
* Unload materials at delivery sites and place materials in buildings as directed by Site Supervisor or written directions
* Loading and unloading products in a safe manner, using provided tools as appropriate (e.g. dollies, lifts, etc.)
* Be able to climb stairs while carrying heavy loads
* Comply with all company policies and procedures
* Record information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems encountered
* Complete all cross-border documentation accurately
* Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
* Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
* Provide feedback to supervisor regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
* Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, customs, etc.
* Delivered product to be placed in designated areas and inspected for damage. Document damage on appropriate forms and return to Supervisor.
* Must ensure the paperwork corresponds to what is being loaded and shipped
* Collection of payments from customers if directed to do so
* When there are no deliveries, driver may be assigned work within the plant
*Must have:*
* Valid G Driver's License with Clean Driver's Abstract
* Must be of insurable age
* Delivery Driver experience an asset
* High level of personal integrity and strong work ethic
* Professional/mature demeanor
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision
* Heavy lifting required; must be able to lift 60 to 80lbs regularly
* Must have or be able to get a valid Canadian Passport (deliveries to the States)
* Must be able to do an occasional overnight delivery (accommodation & meals paid)
* Prefer individuals who have delivery experience
* Must be punctual and have demonstrated good work ethic
* Some physical work (loading & unloading}
* 8 to 10 hr. shifts, Monday to Friday, starting at 6 am
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.85-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
