Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Retail business. Tasks: Supervise staff (apprentices, stages hands, design team, etc.). Exhibit designers plan and develop permanent and temporary or moveable exhibits and displays for museum exhibitions, trade shows, conventions, retail spaces and other exhibitions. Order merchandise. Authorize return of merchandise. Establish work schedules. Sell merchandise. Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters. Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages. Organize and maintain inventory. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers. Set-up displays of retail parts and accessories. Supervision: Grocery clerks and shelf stockers. Working groups. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Team player. Ability to multitask. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Support for newcomers and refugees: Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.). Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees . Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for youths: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers . Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers . Supports for visible minorities: Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities (for example: anonymizing the hiring process, etc.). Offers mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
