Job Title: *HSEQ Advisor*
Site: Voisey?s Bay Accommodations Complex
Job Rotation: *14 days on, 14 days off*
Reports To: *HSEQ Director*
*SUMMARY*
Provide supervision and support to the operations team relating to Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality for the Voisey?s Bay Accommodations Complex located at Vale?s Nickel Mine Site in Voisey?s Bay, Labrador.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following:
· Maintain a clean, neat appearance at all times
· Deal with problems quickly and efficiently
· Maintain good client communications at Project level
· Ensure project and staff compliance with all Labrador Catering (?LCLP?) operating policies and procedures
· Maintain confidentiality of all company policies and procedures
· Initiate safety inspections, training, and any necessary reports
· Continually inspect premises, and food service areas, for cleanliness and appearance
· Assure contract compliance and ensure staff awareness of contractual obligations for the project
· Set an example for associates to follow by incorporating safe work practices in all aspects of their activities and following all LCLP and client safety policies and procedures
· Conduct audits, inspections, accident investigations and incident/accident analysis to identify incident trends, utilizing root cause analysis and report findings promptly and professionally
· Monitor corrective actions determined from incident investigation reports
· Prepares reports including key performance indicators to management and to the client as needed conducted
· Act as a liaison between management and outside agencies
· Liaise with HSEQ Director and claim management group for WorkplaceNL claims and quick RTW
· Ensure all health & safety and food safety issues are addressed and resolved promptly
· Assure training programs are established and tracked for employees and supervisors, providing and/or scheduling training as required
· Ensure corporate compliance with legal and other requirements
· Liaise with client Health & Safety department and governmental agencies (Public Health, OHS, etc.)
· Ensure due diligence records are maintained and internal audits are conducted
· Monitor and address all Program shortcomings
· Perform all risk management requirements including reviewing and approving all JSA?s prior to implementation and physically inspecting work areas, as required
· Participate in the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee as an impartial participant (Guest), assisting with the committee?s Functions and actions
· Coordinate and chair Weekly Safety Meetings; attend and support daily Tool Box Talks
· Participate in regular progress/update meetings with HSEQ Director
· Other duties, as assigned.
*QUALIFICATIONS*

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· OHS Certificate/Diploma/Degree from a recognized university or college is required and or;
· Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Public Health from a recognized university or college is required
· Must have at least 5 years solid relevant field experience in either Public Health Inspection and/or Occupational Health & Safety with a _minimum _of 2 years? experience performing these duties in a remote site environment\*
\* Preference will be given to candidates with experience in catering and accommodations services.
· Advanced Food Safety Certification (AFST) is a must, however company can provide
· NCSO designation an asset
· CRSP designation completed or in progress an asset
· Ability to promote a positive safety culture by communicating and consulting with all disciplines within the workforce and management on a daily basis
