MAK Consulting is an exciting and innovative software development company based in Burlington and Brantford, Ontario. We have an immediate opening for a current or future superstar Technical Writer.
The ideal candidate would reside within commuting distance to either our Brantford or Burlington office. Currently, MAK?s team is following a hybrid structure, working two days a week in one of our office locations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Create and maintain technical documentation such as user guides and ICDs
* Work closely with the development team and other stakeholders to accurately document product features
* Participate in scrum events such as daily standups, sprint retrospectives, sprint planning
* Design streamlined slide decks for sprint summaries and static demos of development items
* Create and maintain internal reference documents and new employee training materials
* Be a ?deep generalist? who strives for a broad knowledge of the product while specializing in key areas
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or related field, or a technical diploma with relevant certifications
* Exceptional technical writing skills
* 2-3 years of technical writing experience
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
* Practical experience using software development tools like IDEs (Visual Studio), Git, CLIs (e.g. Command Prompt)
* Ability to read code and make minor edits
* Familiarity with markup language (Markdown, HTML)
* Skilled in information synthesis, akin to requirements gathering
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
* Coding skills in C#, SQL, JavaScript
* Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and software development cycles
* Agile and Scrum methodology knowledge or certification
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
