Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities. Assist with maintenance and repair of medical equipment. Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort. Perform other duties related to personal care. Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse. Serve meal trays and feed patients. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Make beds and maintain patients' rooms. Maintain inventory of supplies. Bathe, dress and groom patients. Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher. Answer call signals to determine patients' needs. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate. Moving Patients Safety Principles (MPSP) training. CPR Certificate. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Standing for extended periods. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Judgement. Reliability. Patience. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
