Transit Driver OverviewThe Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is currently inviting applications for the position of Transit Driver described in detail in the job description found at www.scrd.ca/careers. Based on recent changes to our scheduling system, please note that, in addition to driving on any of our regular routes, this role may also include time on standby, vacation coverage, Spare Board relief assignments, shifts as a Handy Dart Driver or as a Service Person, all of which are designed to support our operational requirements.Compensation and BenefitsWe have what is being called the very best compensation and benefit package that is out there. Whatever your background, immediately upon hire, our comprehensive benefit package is yours! This includes extended health and dental coverage, including paid eyewear and eye exams, orthotics, and up to $1250 annually for chiro, massage, acupuncture, physio, and more. In addition to three weeks of vacation, we offer 13 paid statutory holidays (after 30 days of employment), as well as paid family responsibility leave, sick leave, short-term and long-term disability leave, group life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, participation in the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP), and free confidential counselling services.This is a bargaining unit position working up to 40 hours per week, at $36.08 per hour with varying schedules including weekend, early morning, and evening hours.
