Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Advise clients on beauty care treatments. Analyze hair and scalp condition. Book appointments. Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences. Provide custom hair and scalp treatment. Shampoo customers' hair. Shave and trim beards and mustaches. Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages. Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair. Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair. Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences. Perform receptionist duties. Maintain and order supplies. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Barbering Trade Certification. Hairstylist Trade Certification. Hairstyling Red Seal Certificate. Barber Licence. Hairstylist Licence. Hair styling techniques: Blow drying. Hair braiding. Iron waving/curling. Permanents. Twisting. Spiking. Pin curls. Roller setting. Hair colouring techniques: Bleach. Dyes/tints. Streaking/highlights. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination.
