*General Store Assistant Manager*
*(Full-Time)*
Reporting to the General Store Manager, the Assistant Manager participates in all areas of day-to-day operations such as sales, scheduling, ordering product, processing payments, reconciling daily sales, train staff, manage inventory, ordering tobacco and merchandise, maintaining the store image, and providing excellent customer service.
*Main duties:*
* Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
* Assist the Manager with scheduling of staff
* On-call availability if a situation presents itself or staff are unable to fulfill their scheduled shift
* Supervising, training, and providing feedback to employees
* Handle payments by cash and credit card using a computerized point of sale system
* Use electronic scanners, cash register, or computers
* Inventory control: Order tobacco and merchandise
* Give receipts, refunds, credits and assist customers
* Cleaning of facilities including washrooms
* Ensure that safe work practices are followed including using proper lifting techniques and keeping the store clean and tidy
* Other duties as required
*Experience requirements:*
* 1-2 years of Retail Assistant Manager Experience Preferred
* Familiarity using Point of Sale systems preferred but not required
* Reconciling daily sales experience
* Basic proficiency with computers, and MS Office (MS Excel in particular).
* Familiarity with non-taxable sales is an asset
*Physical Demand Requirements:*
* Ability to lift cases of product to a maximum of 23KGS
* Ability to sit and stand for long period of time
*Key Competencies:*
* Strong leadership and organizational skills.
* Great customer service skills.
* Understanding of Indian status tax exemption on tobacco sales an asset.
* Be able to work well in a team environment
* Excellent communication skills
* Must be detail oriented
* Must adhere to PDG?s strict confidentiality standards

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
