Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Confined spaces. In/on water. Outdoors. Tasks: Adjust, repair or replace electrical system parts. Adjust, repair or replace mechanical system parts. Diagnose and isolate faults on engines. Discuss work with supervisor. Document your inspection and tests made on engines. Instruct apprentices. Perform scheduled maintenance and service. Advise customers on work performed and condition of equipment. Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance. Repair boats. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Type of maintenance: Marine engines. Equipment and machinery experience: Power tools. Engines. Diesel engines. Area of specialization: Watercraft. Engine repair. Engine repair and overhaul. Diesel engine repair specialization: Major internal engine repairs or overhaul. Installation and alignment of engines and machinery. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity.
