Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.<p><p>0.5 Emergency Classroom Supervisor - Kars on the Rideau<p><p><p><p><p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Summary<p> <p> <p> <p><p><p><p><p>Reporting to the Principal/Vice Principal, the Emergency Classroom Supervisor will:<p><p> Provide adult supervision in the classroom with the support of the qualified teacher <p> Support a safe learning environment; and <p> Assistance to students with completing work assigned by the classroom teacher. <p><p><p><p><p><p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Duties and Responsibilities<p> <p> <p> <p><p><p><p> Provide supervision, along with the classroom teacher, for a class of students or groups of students to ensure a safe and secure environment<p> Taking attendance and reporting student absences <p> Assist students to complete work that has been assigned by the classroom teacher;<p> Follow school safety protocols and school and student safety plans to ensure the health and safety of staff and students<p> Maintain confidentiality and protect student privacy <p> Perform additional duties that may be assigned by the Principal / Vice-Principal, including supervision on the school yard, in hallways or other areas of the school.<p><p><p><p><p><p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills<p> <p> <p> <p><p><p><p> As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must provide a valid Police Records Check for Vulnerable Sector (PVRC) completed within six months of date of hire<p> Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at time of employment<p> Completion of a high school diploma; preference will be given to applicants currently enrolled in a university or college program or graduates of these programs<p> Experience working/volunteering with children and/or adults, preferably in an education setting<p> Sound judgment and decision-making skills<p> Proficiency in English language, with French language skills considered an asset<p> Ability to follow instructions and show initiative.<p> Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy<p> Must be available to work Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.<p><p><p><p><p><p> <p> <p> <p> <p> Application Process<p> <p> <p> <p><p><p>Applications will be assessed according to the requirements and qualifications outlined in this job posting, and in accordance with Policy P.146.HR Equitable Recruitment, Hiring and Promotion.<p><p><p>Those who apply for positions must make themselves available for interviews.
