Education: College/CEGEP. Medical radiologic technology/science - radiation therapist. Work setting: Radiological laboratory. Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Explain procedures. Record and process results of procedures. Apply radiation protection measures. Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment. Record and process patient data. Provide appropriate care and monitoring of the patient during the examination. Operate ultrasound imaging equipment to produce and record images. Co-ordinate work activities with other departments. Carry out administrative and clerical activities (record keeping, scheduling etc.). Compile, verify, record and process applications, licences, permits, contracts, registrations, requisitions, and other forms and documents. Provide information and care for patients during tests. Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification by a provincial or territorial association.
