With headquarters in Toronto, Canada, and operations in Newfoundland & Labrador, Ontario, Manitoba, UK, Indonesia, and Brazil, we are delivering the critical building blocks for a cleaner, greener future.Applying the latest technologies to sustainably mine the critical minerals that power electric vehicles, build renewable energy solutions, and help develop life-saving medical equipment is at the heart of what we do.We invite you to be part of our evolution.The Opportunity The successful candidate will support the Manitoba team to ensure the integrity of the tailings facility by performing the scope of work for key aspects of tailings and pond management, with a focus in process safety for the operation, surveillance, ongoing construction of tailings facilities, and liaising with the Engineer of Record other internal teams and the Accountable Executive.As the Technical Leader, your responsibilities will include:Maintenance of design, construction, operations, maintenance, monitoring and surveillance records.Tailings deposition planning.Ensuring adherence to and actively supports the site-wide water management strategyOverseeing the implementation of the design intent during construction and operationsSupport of risk assessment of structures.Additionally, in this position you will:Maintain construction and performance records, ensuring its appropriate control to make relevant and up-to-date information accessibleWork with the engineering, environmental, and processing teams to develop and execute short- and long-term construction and maintenance plans and schedules.Provide civil construction monitoring and project management.Review the preparation of design reports, drawings and technical specifications.Interpret and verify monitoring data:Analyze monitoring and surveillance data, report on routine dam inspections, and approve recommendations for improvement of structure conditions.Collaborate with Engineer of Record to analyze data and report on findings.Support risk assessments and provide recommendations to treat / mitigate identified risks.Monitor compliance to the tailings deposition plan.Implement and periodically review and update site-wide water management strategy.Provide oversight for the design, construction and overall management of tailings and water retaining facilities.Provide budgetary inputs to meet operational, research and development, and capital expenditure needs.About YouEducation:Bachelor's degree in engineering.Master's degree with specialization in geotechnical engineering preferred.preferredRegistration to a professional Engineer designationExperience:A minimum of 10 years of geotechnical and tailings experience, including tailings storage facility design, construction, operations and closure of tailings and water storage facilities, and related experience in technical and operational roles.Experience in geotechnical engineering for tailings facilities, water storage facilities and slope management, including dam analysis, tailings characterization and instrumentation technologies.Experience of influencing senior business leaders.Experience managing teams of employees and contractors.Skills:Experience with different mineral, tailings and water processing and handling technologies.Expertise in managing tailings storage facility governance (deep knowledge of MAC, CDA, ANCOLD, ICOLD, other guidance documents).Ability to lead teams focused on dam safety and guide others in the application of critical thinki
