We envision a bright future in Coquitlam that we hope includes you!About You / What We Are Looking ForWe are seeking up to six new members to join our Public Works team. These positions will rotate through the Sewer, Drainage, Capital Construction, Water, and Roads departments in an effort to familiarize and train employees towards possible future regular full time Maintenance Worker positions.This is manual work assisting Maintenance Workers in the day-to-day monitoring, repair and replacement of public works infrastructure. This would include: asphalt repairs; concrete repairs and replacement; sign maintenance and replacement; line painting; vegetation control; snow and ice response; cleaning, repairing and installing sewer and drainage mains and services; repair and installation of water mains and services; pump station maintenance; emergency response; traffic control; and response to customer service requests.Minimum QualificationsCompletion of Grade 12, or equivalent, plus some related experience in general public works maintenance or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. A valid Class 5 BC Driver?s License is required.What We Offer:A CUPE hourly rate of $34.16 (2024 rates), plus a competitive benefits package and an earned day off program is being offered.
