*Overview*
We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting HR functions and ensuring the smooth operation of various HR processes.
The HR Coordinator provides administrative support for human resources functions within the organization, focusing on employee benefits, union-related tasks, and staff records. This role ensures the smooth onboarding of new staff and the effective management of benefits and seniority lists in accordance with union guidelines and organizational policies.
*Key Responsibilities*:
* *Recruitment *Advertising vacancies, conducting screening interviews.
* *New Staff Orientation* Coordinate and conduct new employee orientations, ensuring staff are well-informed about organizational policies, procedures, and benefits.
* *Staff Benefit Eligibility* Work closely with the Accounting department to monitor staff hours and determine eligibility for benefits.
* *Benefit Registration *Handle benefit enrollments, including Medical Services Plan (MSP), Healthcare Benefits Trust (HBT), and Municipal Pension Plan (MPP) registration. Ensure timely submission of Student Confirmation Forms where applicable.
* *Seniority Lists* Collaborate with the Accounting department to update and maintain accurate seniority lists, ensuring compliance with union rules.
* *Records of Employment (ROEs)*Prepare and submit ROEs, ensuring all necessary information is collected from the Accounting department.
* *Monitoring of Nurses? Status and Benefits *Track the status of nursing staff, including benefits eligibility, maternity leaves, and other changes, ensuring timely updates to relevant departments.
*Scheduling and Staffing Management*
o Working with Day Program Managers Handle daily scheduling and staffing, including Day Program LOA requests.
*Education*
· Possess a Bachelor?s Degree in Human Resources Management or a related business field.
*Experience*
· At least 5 years of experience working in a Human Resources focused role.
· Experience working in a unionized environment, non-profit organization or health care organization is a major asset.
*Other Requirements*
· Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers? License and possess a vehicle insured for work purposes. Local travel is approximately 10% of the role.
· Proficiency using Microsoft Office.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
· Knowledge of a second language is considered an asset.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00-$25.70 per hour
