*Overview*
At JBS Equipment, we are dedicated to manufacturing top-of-the-line agricultural equipment that is used in various locations around the globe. As a rapidly growing company based in Mission, BC, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic and result-driven to join our team as a *Cost Accountant. *Reporting to the controller, this role will ensure to evaluate key financial drivers and performance benchmarks, which will play a crucial role in enhancing the organization's profitability.
*Responsibilities*
* Track and analyze costs associated with specific projects, ensuring they stay within budget and meet financial goals.
* Conduct regular variance analyses to understand deviations from budgeted figures and identify source and variance and recommend corrective actions.
* Oversee and assist in AR/AP functions when needed.
* Analyze job costs and profitability of manufactured equipment.
* Identify and track key patterns and benchmarks to improve overall profitability.
* Create and update month-end schedules; prepare related reports and month-end journal entries.
* Assist with inventory management and costing processes.
* Support the Controller with monthly and year-end accounting tasks.
* Aid in establishing and monitoring the annual budget.
* Collaborate with the accounting team on various tasks as required.
* Review cycle counts and postings, highlighting discrepancies.
* Update daily sales reports and maintain accuracy in sales tracking.
* Engage in long-term projects focused on customer segments.
* Reconcile larger customer accounts and provide reporting to the Controller and CFO.
* Track and analyze costs associated with specific projects, ensuring they stay within budget and meet financial goals.
* Conduct regular variance analyses to understand deviations from budgeted figures and recommend corrective actions.
*Qualifications:*
* University degree in Accounting or Finance.
* CPA certification (CA, CGA, or CMA) or current CPA student nearing completion an asset.
* Minimum of 3 to 5 years of full-time accounting experience.
* At least 2 to 3 years of job costing experience, preferable in a manufacturing environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
* Capable of working under pressure with minimal supervision.
* Fluent in written and spoken English.
* Experience with QuickBooks Pro is considered an asset.
* Familiarity with internal control functions is a plus.
