The successful applicant must meet the District criteria for Teacher Librarian as well as be willing to support students and staff in a collaborative model.<p> <p>Under the general direction of the Principal, Teacher Librarian will work cooperatively with classroom teachers to plan, teach and assess students in a variety of curriculum areas. The library will operate as a hub of learning in the school and connect students to both print and digital resources.<p><p>The Teacher Librarian will work collaboratively with the classroom teachers? instructional needs in the development, presentation and enhancement of curriculum and skills through facilitating experiences and projects in various areas.<p>and <p> <p>Learning Assistance Teacher ( .203 FTE). The successful applicant, without formal qualifications, must enroll in and start a certificate program upon acceptance of posting.<p>This position may increase. Administration and staff value collaboration. We often have small class sizes allowing the school to have the flexibility of multi-grades from Kindergarten to Grade 7. We focus on numeracy and literacy while weaving in other curricular areas. Our students commonly love the outdoors and anything to do with animals. We have a nearby forested area which includes an outdoor classroom. <p><p><p> Desired qualifications and experience include: <p><p> Hold, or be qualified for, a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate.<p> Experience with adapting, and modifying, curriculum to meet the needs of students. <p> Experience teaching primary and intermediate/middle school/secondary students. <p> Strong literacy and numeracy skills. Willingness to work and implement school initiatives and goals. <p> Capacity to work independently and in collaboration with a team. <p> Ability to use performance standards in the area of social responsibility. <p> Acquainted with the outcomes and evaluation processes outlined in the new curriculum. <p> Committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques. <p> Experience teaching in a multiage group setting. <p> Strong classroom management skills. <p> Training in teaching ELL students. <p> Ability to work as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social and emotional learning difficulties. <p> Willingness to work in a collaborative model with staff on the school improvement plan. <p> Working knowledge of Criterion Based Referencing Assessment and Performance Based Assessment, and Balanced Literacy. <p> Experience working with students who display a variety of behaviours. <p><p>Why School District No. 59? <p>Collaboration, support, contemporary learning spaces and resources are part of the fabric of School District No. 59.
