The Canadian Home Builders' Association is the voice of residential construction in Canada and in New Brunswick. Our Provincial Office is located in the heart of downtown Fredericton, New Brunswick. We promote excellence in residential construction and work to improve the quality of housing, provide training and skill development to industry by certifying home builders and renovators through our CHBANB MASTER BUILDER® Program. We provide public education on building science, help consumers understand the benefits of hiring a professional contractor and we champion energy efficiency in New Brunswick (since 1980) by delivering the R-2000, Energy Star and Net Zero Housing Programs. We are a not-for-profit Association representing industry practitioners from all corners of New Brunswick.One of our primary services to the residential construction industry is providing energy efficiency training to energy advisors, builders, renovators, building officials, indigenous communities, real estate professionals, HVAC professionals and consumers. Our Energy Advisors also works closely with builders who want to move from Code built homes to High Performance Homes including Energy Star for New Housing, Net Zero Ready and Net Zero Homes. We are currently working with industry stakeholders and partners to prepare our industry for stringent building codes that will see our industry moving to zero emission buildings by 2050 in conjunction with the Government of Canada's Green Housing Policies.We have a full-time permanent position available for an Energy Advisor, Trainer & Industry Consultant. The successful applicant will work closely with the Association's Training Team to deliver energy efficiency training to those who work in the residential construction industry. This training will include, building science training, EnergyStar Training, and Net Zero Training. In addition to training the industry's next energy efficiency leaders, our Energy Advisor, Trainer & Industry Consultant will provide mentoring and consultation services to builders who want to move from code built to high-performance and ideally net zero labeled buildings. As we pride ourselves on delivering the latest in building science technologies and knowledge, and therefore the successful candidate will also serve on a number of committees and councils, locally, provincially, and nationally to help shape the program and policies for future housing programs.Our Energy Advisor, Trainer & Industry Consultant will travel throughout New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada and will meet the province's premier builders, renovators, and stakeholders. They will develop positive work relationships with industry practitioners and stakeholders and seek opportunities to share the latest in building science information. Some national travel will also be required to attend industry gatherings and conferences. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, like helping people, be able to undertake responsibilities and tasks and carry through to completion with minimum supervision.Qualifications:Our Energy Advisor, Trainer & Industry Consultant will be outgoing, energetic, and willing to immerse themselves fully into this very important role. They will have the following skills and qualifications:1. Registered Energy Advisor with Natural Resources Canada2. Experience in providing energy efficiency support to the residential construction industry and homeowners through the EnerGuide Rating Service (New & Existing & MURBS), and Energy Star for New Homes®3. Qualified CHBA Net Zero Energy Advisor and Trainer4. Extensive knowledge of Hot20005. HRAI Training including F280 and F326 would be an asset. Training can be provided by the employer.6. Experienced trainer, speaker, and presenter7. Excellent communication skills in English and bilingualism in both official languages would be an asset8. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)9. Valid driver'
