*Overview*
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support to ensure efficient operation in our office environment.
Minimum five years experience with solid working knowledge of Canadian GAAP, ASPE & IFRS accounting guidelines and practices.
Responsibilities:
* Accounts Management: Oversee the full cycle of Accounts Receivable, review and preparation of customer billing, customer follow-ups, reconciliations and collections.
* General Accounting: Perform a variety of general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts to ensure financial data integrity.
* Account Reconciliation: Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Prepare and review weekly, monthly, and quarterly ad-hoc reporting as requested by management.
* Intercompany Transactions: Maintain and reconcile monthly intercompany transactions, ensuring proper recording and resolution of discrepancies.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest software developments and accounting best practices to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes.
* Other finance related duties as assigned by Group Controller/Management.
Qualifications and requirements:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Preference for candidates with experience in the engineering/consulting, manufacturing or construction industry.
* Intercompany Accounting: Experience in handling high volume intercompany accounting transactions is preferred.
* Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of general accounting principles, with job cost, project-based experience
* Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and experience with Quickbooks Online & Desktop Enterprise versions and ERP experience (Netsuite) would be preferred.
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively in a team setting.
* Time Management: Proven ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects concurrently.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
