Responsibilities
Tasks

Plan sequence of operation

Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements

Develop templates

Instruct apprentices

Lay out patterns

Lay out plate, sheet steel and other heavy metal and mark lines

Supervise other workers

Set up and operate heavy-metal working machines to cut and shape metal into parts
