Job details
Education: Master's degree. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Clinic. Private clinic. Tasks: Evaluate mobility, balance, gait and posture. Examine the patient. Observe the patient during the treatment. Perform X-rays and other tests. Administer budget. Diagnose disorders of the spine and other body joints. Adjust position of displaced vertebrae and other articulations, using manipulative therapy. Hire and train staff. Provide additional treatment such as heat, red light and massage. Supervise staff. Advise patients on corrective exercises, lifestyle and nutrition. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board and Provincial Licensing Body Examination. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Eligible for professional liability insurance. Criminal record check. Child Abuse Registry check. Adult Abuse Registry check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Repetitive tasks. Fast-paced environment. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Attention to detail. Work under pressure. Hand-eye co-ordination. Large caseload.
