sidewalk-cleaning equipment operator

Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Cold/refrigerated. Noisy. Outdoors. Wet/damp. Work setting: Private contractors. Rural area. Urban area. Various locations. Tasks: Clean and maintain sidewalks, streets, roads and public grounds. Spread sand or salt on sidewalks for snow or ice control. Operate jackhammers and drills to break up pavement. Assist equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment or truck. Assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment. Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment. Secure special attachments to equipment. Perform minor repairs to equipment. Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment. Operate heavy equipment. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks. Complete onboard and other logs. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Forklift Operator Certification. Type of heavy equipment operated: Loader. Truck or equipment experience: Snowplough. Equipment and machinery experience: Mobile sidewalk cleaners. Vehicle and equipment experience: De-icing sprayers. Area of work experience: Material handling. Snow removal. Stock piling. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Repetitive tasks. Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
