*Mental Health Worker*
(Beaverhouse Band Members and Internal Candidates will be given priority)
Following the Mission Statement of the Beaverhouse First Nation, we are seeking a dedicated and energetic individual who will work with a dynamic team to perform the following duties:
? Provide confidential, in-person and online mental health counseling and therapy for members of Beaverhouse First Nation.
? Collaborate with local mental health, and support service providers to ensure seamless care for community members.
? Conduct timely follow-ups with referred clients and their referral sources to ensure effective communication.
? Develop, plan, and deliver workshops, programs, and skill development groups.
? Complete all administrative tasks promptly, including documentation of client consent and session notes.
? Utilize the secure electronic record system for all documentation needs.
? Uphold professional standards and cultural safety in community and program interactions.
? Must be able to work some evenings and weekends and prepared for other duties as assigned.
? Experience with facilitation or coordination of group activities.
? Create a strategy that will assist the youth in identifying mental health issues that may be hindering or be a barrier to their educational achievement.
? Be knowledgeable with Department of Indigenous Services Canada documentation and reporting related to Jordan?s Principle.
? Ensure children receive culturally appropriate and quality services and support families where assistance may be required to identify service providers, social services, educators and supports needed that would enhance their well-being.
? Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate recreational, social and/or educational activities for children and their families.
? Provide formal presentations and education programs as well as informal teaching to communities, families, groups, and individuals.
? Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary in the performance of the position and as assigned by the manager.
*Qualifications:*
? Degree or diploma in one of the following fields: Child and Youth Services, Psychology, Social Services, Mental Health and Addictions, or any related discipline.
? Experience working alongside Indigenous communities, with knowledge of Indigenous wellness and priorities.
? Experience in conducting counsellor/client interviews, assessments, planning and treatment, referrals, group facilitation.
? Minimum requirement of 2 years experience working in the mental health field.
? Strong administrative and documentation skills.
? Experience with Microsoft Office suite, TEAMS, and other related office programs.
? Valid Driver?s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

? Valid First Aid/CPR
? Mental Health First Aid Certificate
? Crisis Intervention Training: Assist Training, Safe Talk Training, Peer Support Counselling
