Responsibilities
Tasks

Cut, shape and join timber pieces or assemble pre-cut timber pieces to make wooden boats
-
Record information on products inspected

Assemble prefabricated parts and sections of fibreglass, metal or other materials to form boats
-
Change machinery attachments
-
Clean work area
-
Caulk decks and hulls
-
Monitor machine during operation

Install trims, rudders, seats, engine mounts and other accessories

Repair boats
-
Inspect assembled boats for defects and conformance to quality standards

Mark defects to be repaired

Affix seal or tags to approved products

Check manufactured items for defects and conformance to specifications

Complete reports on product inspection

Load, feed or place materials into machine

Operate machine to fabricate parts and products

Return defective products for repair or recycle

Sand, trim, grind or clean products into final form using hand tools

Screw, clip, glue, bond, weld or otherwise assemble parts and components to form final products
