MMLR Law P.C., Agents for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) in the Hamilton, Halton and Cayuga jurisdictions seek a lawyer with Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree or L.L.B .from an accredited law school, who is admitted to the Bar in Ontario, for a full time position conducting federal prosecution work (primarily criminal drug offences).
Experience in criminal law is preferred, but junior candidates without such experience will be considered. Ideal candidate would have 2-5 years of experience in criminal law, however new calls to the Bar and more experienced counsel with criminal experience will be considered.
Candidates should have a keen interest in trial work, solid written and verbal communication skills, a proficiency in legal research and analysis using various resources, including Lexis-Nexis or Westlaw, the ability to collaborate with colleagues on file work, and a commitment to ethically discharging the role of a prosecutor. A suitable candidate must be able to pass security screening, and must have regular and unfettered access to a vehicle.
Regular attendance / work from offices in downtown Hamilton is required, along with attendance at the courthouses in Hamilton, Halton, and Cayuga.

The pay scale is commensurate with years of experience and hours worked. Please note that this is not a salaried position.
