Senior Accountant <p>The Greater Essex County District School Board invites Chartered Professional Accountants (CPAs)<p>who are looking for career growth and advancement to apply for this exciting opportunity at one of the<p>region's largest employers. This permanent, full time, C.U.P.E. 1348 bargaining unit position reports<p>directly to the Accounting Supervisor. The Senior Accountant will assist in carrying out all statutory<p>duties as set out in the Ontario Education Act, pertinent legislation and Board policies, regulations and<p>administrative procedures. As a member of the Financial Services team, the successful candidate will<p>participate in the implementation of department goals, budgets and programs. The position is expected<p>to begin as soon as possible.<p>Job Summary: <p>FTE : 1.0 (35 hours per week)<p><p>Salary: $80,134.60 to $84,120.40<p><p>Start Date: Immediately<p>Nature & Scope of Position: <p><p> Assist in complex problem resolution and troubleshooting.<p> <p> Assist with ad-hoc reporting, analysis and team projects as needed.<p> <p> Develop and maintain management reporting.<p> Assist with funding/grants analysis and liaison to department leads.<p> <p> Perform financial forecasting, reporting, analysis, and operational metrics tracking.<p> <p> Support the internal audit function.<p> <p> Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support.<p> <p> Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with budget.<p> <p> Identify and drive process improvements, including the implementation and integration of new<p> financial system processes.<p> <p> Demonstrate a commitment to and documented success in working to create a fair, inclusive, antiracist environment for all stakeholders, and to supporting diverse constituencies and populations.<p> <p> Other duties as assigned.<p><p>Qualifications: <p><p> Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.<p> Strong analytical and data gathering skills.<p> <p> Strong quantitative and analytical competency<p> <p> Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.<p> <p> Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.<p> <p> Ability to identify, resolve and/or escalate issues using good professional judgement.<p> <p> Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion. <p><p>Qualified candidates are invited to apply in writing, giving full particulars as to education, qualifications<p>and experience by visiting https://publicboard.simplication.com/WLSBLogin.aspx no later than 4:00<p>p.m., Friday, September 27, 2024.
